Could cannabis social clubs be coming to Nevada?
The Nevada Senate passed a bill which would let local governments permit marijuana social clubs and other forms of public use by 12-9 on Tuesday. The bill will need to head to the Assembly for a final vote.
Social clubs and public use has previously been against the law in Nevada and generally all other medical and social use states.
Last month, Colorado lawmakers decided to gut a bill that would allow for social cannabis clubs after its governor warned it could bring harsher criticism from the Trump administration, which would lead to possible federal enforcement as cannabis is still classified as a Schedule 1 substance under the Controlled Substances Act.
Legal consumption in dispensaries was also delayed in Alaska.
