Vermont legislature makes cannabis history

Vermont made cannabis reform history yesterday by being the first state to pass legalization measures through both the House and Senate chambers without the need for a public vote.

The two chambers need to pass identical measures within one week to send a legalization bill to Gov. Phil Scott. Ballot initiatives were responsible for cannabis legalization in all other states that have legalized cannabis for social use.

While this is great progress for Vermont and an excellent example for other states to follow, Gov. Scott has recently stated he is not interested in legalizing cannabis for social use quite yet.
