City council allows 24/7 dispensary near the Las Vegas strip

The Las Vegas City Council unanimously voted to allow a dispensary near the strip to stay open 24 hours a day.

Although city code dictates dispensaries must close between 3 a.m. and 6 a.m., Oasis Cannabis will be the first dispensary near major strip businesses to remain open 24/7. North Las Vegas is the only other municipality which allows dispensaries to never close.

County commissioners voted to move forward with plans on Tuesday to let 26 North Las Vegas dispensaries under its jurisdiction to remain open, but the change will not go into effect until October 3.

Benjamin Sillitoe, co-founder of Oasis Cannabis, said he plans to have his dispensary operating 24 hours a day by Friday.
