Full-spectrum extracts: Are they really better?
“A better future via cannabis phytochemistry may be an achievable goal through further research of the entourage effect in this versatile plant that may help it fulfil its promise as a pharmacological treasure trove,” say researchers.
Do you take a whole plant medicine approach to cannabis consumption? If not, it may be worth considering. Whole plant therapy utilizes the “full spectrum” of cannabis’ therapeutic compounds.
Now, pay close attention to those two words in quotation marks.
Full-spectrum extracts are powerful and potent
The term “full spectrum” is used to describe a high-quality oil product comprising a distinctive mixture of cannabinoids and terpenes. Together, these cannabis compounds produce unique flavors, aromas, and effects.
A high-cannabinoid extract of this kind is not starved of its medicinal components; something that tends to happen with other solvent extractions. By extracting all of the plant’s compounds at once, extraction specialists can develop a powerful cannabis medicine that retains rich levels of cannabinoids, terpenes, flavonoids, sterols and phenolic amides.
It is this pure finished product that makes full spectrum cannabis extracts some of the best botanical extracts on the planet.
What is the “entourage effect”?
If you want to harness the medicinal effects of cannabis, you ought to familiarize yourself with something called the “entourage effect” – a phenomenon that occurs when hundreds of the cannabis plant’s natural chemicals interact synergistically with the human body.
The outcome? A multiplying effect that produces a stronger overall reaction; as proven in a study on potential cannabinoid synergy and phytocannabinoid-terpenoid entourage effects back in 2011.
“A better future via cannabis phytochemistry may be an achievable goal through further research of the entourage effect in this versatile plant that may help it fulfill its promise as a pharmacological treasure trove,” researchers said.
Thanks to the amplification of terpenes, vitamins and minerals, and healthy fats and proteins, full-spectrum extracts can be used to fight depression, enhance mood and for general daily wellness.
How can full-spectrum cannabis extracts be used?
Since this cannabinoid-rich hash oil product’s full spectrum profile is retained through the solvent extraction process, full-spectrum cannabis extracts can effectively be used to treat multifarious medical conditions and ailments.
Oily extracts of this kind can be applied topically to problem areas of skin for the treatment of eczema, psoriasis, arthritis and skin cancer.
Conversely, you can include full-spectrum cannabis extracts in your daily wellness routine by vaping or smoking the oil. Another way to experience the entourage effect with full-spectrum extracts is to bake the oil into your favorite recipes and drinks.
Where can I buy full-spectrum cannabis extracts?
Tempted to try full-spectrum cannabis extracts?
Don’t just buy whole plant medicine products from any old seller. Perform your research and always inquire about paperwork to determine a retailer’s legitimacy. If they are licensed and compliant, extract suppliers will be happy to present you with the necessary documentation.

Hi, I have many different pain issues & was given a salve by Jumping Mouse Herbals broad spectrum canna salvation which I can’t find on the web, & was wondering if your resources might know what this is & how to find them. The problem is I run drug treatment at a hospital & am State funded & can’t have THC come back in my drug testing which is required of all employees on a random basis. I’m eligible for medical marijuana & 2 physicians have recommended it, but I also am on a Task Force with the DEA & don’t want to have any conflicts. The word “canna” on the bottle makes me think there might be cannabis in this product but various searches have turned up nothing. I’m hoping you might be able to give me some information. Thanks, Bob
