Second cannabis social club prepares for launch in Denver’s Green Mile district
“This will be one of the first legal spaces for tourists, eager to partake in our cannabis culture, to safely and legally consume the products they are already purchasing here as they visit,” said Vape and Play co-owner, Taylor Rosean.
There are now two cannabis social clubs in the city of Denver.
Vape and Play is the newest club to launch in the Green Mile District. It is expected to begin ushering in customers before the end of 2018.
Both tourists and residents will be welcome inside Vape and Play, where cannabis consumers can publicly express their love for the plant.
Adults aged 21 and older can visit cannabis social clubs in Denver
Don’t expect to see people knocking back shots and dancing around the DJ booth at Vape and Play, because the newest of the two licensed cannabis social clubs in Denver has a sole purpose – to provide adults with a relaxing space where they can blaze up legally.
Vape and Play has been described by the Denver Post as a “multi-station, saloon-style vape bar.” The official opening will commence in fall, amidst the hustle and bustle of the Broadway district.
Customers will not be able to buy any cannabis products from Vape and Play, due to specific social consumption regulations set forth by the city’s government.
Don’t let this put you off, however, because the BYOB (Bring-Your-Own-Bud) theme of this cannabis social club makes it all the more intriguing. Better yet, Denver boasts a plethora of pot dispensaries, making it straightforward for consumers to top up their stash and indulge with fellow members of their smoker’s circle without traveling far in-between.
Cannabis social clubs in Denver must be 1,000 feet away from child-friendly spaces
Back in the summer of 2017, the City of Denver settled the Neighborhood-Supported Cannabis Consumption Pilot Program Initiative, otherwise known as Initiative 300.
Although an entire year has passed since Initiative 300 was finalized, just two cannabis social clubs in Denver have opened for business.
In February, The Coffee Joint was established. Inside this unique cannabis social space, guests are invited to chow down on cannabis-laced edibles, dab cannabis concentrates with torchless e-nails and vape to their heart’s content.
The lack of cannabis social clubs in Denver could be down to the strict Denver Zoning Code. Under Initiative 300 regulations, it is not possible for any cannabis-related social club to be built within 1,000 feet of schools, parks, daycare centers or child-friendly areas.
Vape and Play sits in a busy Broadway district known as “The Green Mile”
“This will be one of the first legal spaces for tourists, eager to partake in our cannabis culture, to safely and legally consume the products they are already purchasing here as they visit,” the co-owner of Vape and Play, Taylor Rosean, said to the Post.
“Not to mention we will be providing a space for locals who rent and are not allowed to consume on their property per their lease, or just for people who would like to enjoy cannabis in a space that isn’t their living room.”
