Major networks air cannabis commercial for the first time

For the first time on television, CNN, Fox News, MSNBC, Viceland, the Weather Channel, Headline News and Fox Business are now airing an advertisement for a cannabis law firm.

Hoban Law Group, a law firm which specializes in hemp, medical and social cannabis issues, worked with a Denver-based producer to create an ad which met the requirements of many major networks.

Bob Hoban, founder of the national firm, said he wanted to make sure the ad didn’t use slang, but instead focused on subjects like industrial hemp, medical and social cannabis.

Hoban said the ad is not about immediate business development and focuses on keeping the firm on the cutting edge of the industry.

Derrick Perkins, the media producer who worked with the law firm, said he had to compile a knowledge base over the span of 18 months to help the firm craft language which followed the networks’ parameters.

“What’s unique about Bob’s product is that you can’t ingest it,” Perkins added. “It’s straightforward legal and business consulting. Because of that, the Hoban firm was able to obtain prime time slots, from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. weeknights.”
